Spirit of Life Society
Dr Emily Howard Jennings Stowe
Dr. Emily Howard Jennings
Stowe (1831 - 1903)
The Spirit of Life Society recognizes those individuals who have thoughtfully remembered Women’s College Hospital through a provision in their will or other future gift arrangement involving life insurance, a trust or registered retirement savings.

The Spirit of Life Society was established in honour of Dr. Emily Howard Jennings Stowe, visionary and founder of Women’s Medical College in 1883.  In 1911, Women’s College Hospital was established to provide a place where women doctors could practice medicine.  For almost a century, Women’s College Hospital has been a leader in women’s health care, education and research.

Like Dr. Stowe, members of the Spirit of Life Society believe in the importance and future potential of Women’s College Hospital.  They lead by example by arranging a future gift in support of our care, education and research - initiatives that will benefit the generations of patients and community members to come.

Members of the Spirit of Life Society receive the following benefits:
  • invitations to the Spirit of Life Society annual luncheon in June and other special Foundation events
  • a Spirit of Life Society lapel pin
  • the option of recognition in Women’s College Hospital Foundation donor listings
