Women’s College Hospital Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to the Association of Volunteers at Women’s College Hospital (WCH) for their generous gift of $3,000 towards the hospital’s COVID-19 Response Fund.  Recently established to help WCH cope with urgent needs related to supporting its front-line workers, the fund is supporting the hospital’s highest priorty needs in the fight against COVID-19.
“Through this donation to the COVID-19 Response Fund, the Association of Volunteers is very proud to show our support and thanks to the staff and clinicians that we work with at the hospital during this great time of need,” says Anne McGuire, President of WCH’s Association of Volunteers and Member of the WCH Board of Directors.
For over a century, The Association of Volunteers has played an important role in supporting Women’s College Hospital during times of need. Through countless fundraising initiatives - from collecting milk money in the 1920s, to book sales and raffles still hosted today - their support has helped to purchase much-needed medical equipment, provided comfort care packages for patients of the hospital’s Sexual Assualt and Domestic Violence Care Centre, and even helped build the hospital’s new state-of-the-art facility.
The Association of Volunteers’ support of the COVID-19 Response Fund signifies their enduring committment to care for Women’s College Hospital’s patients, physicians, staff and community.
"All of us, as volunteers at Women's College Hospital, are thinking of the front-line workers that we interact with daily in our volunteer roles at the hospital. We understand and appreciate the personal sacrifices they are making to help keep all of us safe,” says Anne McGuire.” “We look forward to the day when we will be back working alongside them."
