We're all in this together, and here for each other.

Dear friends of Women’s College Hospital,

I hope you and your families are well in these uncertain times and I thank you for your ongoing dedication to our hospital.

The continued safety of our patients, caregivers, staff and clinicians is our top priority, as we work to protect the health and wellbeing of everyone in our WCH community.

Women’s College Hospital is proud to be providing care to our community in this moment of need. We continue to closely monitor the situation and follow all the advice of our hospital leadership and public health authorities as our Hospital plays its part as an Assessment Centre on the front lines. For information on accessing this centre, please click here.

Women’s College Hospital has established a Virtual Assessment Centre, where there is a new online self-assessment tool. Anyone can do the online assessment and it will tell you if you need to visit an Assessment Centre for a test. If you screen positive using the tool and live in our catchment area, you can register and our team phones you to follow up. You can access the tool here

To support the community, our Hospital has compiled a number of Frequently Asked Questions based on their conversations with those coming through our Assessment Centre and patients. You may have the same questions, so I refer you here.

While we are all practicing social distancing we will start supporting you at home. As a hospital with a virtual hub with expertise in virtual care, we will start sending you advice from our experts on exercising, tips for stress relief and advice for those caring for others at home, sick or not, in addition to how we can take care of ourselves. And most importantly, we will continue to share important health updates as we meet the challenges of COVID-19, together.

We all have a role to play right now. This truly is a time in our community when we need to see the we in all of this — how we can play our collective role in keeping ourselves, our families, our neighbours and those on the frontlines safe and healthy. We are in this together, and here for each other.

Many people have been reaching out to ask how they can help. In response, Women’s College Hospital Foundation has established a new fund to help the hospital cope with the unforeseen challenges of supporting our front-line workers. The unrestricted Women’s College Hospital 2020 RESPONSE FUND will support the highest priority needs not covered by government funding.

Please know that you can always reach out to any of your Foundation team members at any time, we would love to hear from you.

Take care of yourself and each other. We will stay in touch.
