Women’s College Hospital’s world-class research institute is one of only a few hospital-based research institutes worldwide to focus on health equity, producing groundbreaking knowledge about health conditions that have unique implications for women and people with complex conditions. Women’s College Research Institute (WCRI) is confronting social inequities in healthcare for women and other marginalized groups, so that the known gaps in diagnoses and clinical treatments can be fixed.
A teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and a member of the Toronto Academic Health Science Network, Women’s College Hospital is training the health professionals of the future to work in ambulatory (out-patient) environments, where most healthcare is delivered and yet too little education takes place.
